1. Amazing Grace

One note and I tear up. Remembering how small I really am. Remembering I am never really alone. Remembering there is always hope. Remembering I still have faith. Perfect song when performed by anyone. Ringing out from Scottish Warpipes is my favorite.

Through many dangers
Toils and snares
I have already come
twas grace that brought me
Safely thus far
And grace will lead me home
And when this heart

And flesh shall fail
And mortal life shall cease
I shall possess
Within the vail
A life of joy and peace

I bet you haven't heard Bryan Ferry do it. Truly weird, and probably a bad idea.

Welcome! We've been talking about you behind your back.

I heard the whispers believe it or not... and something about me being pronounced dead by way of an obituary! ;-) Love the "death by battle with my record collection"

It's good to be back. Hopefully life will be calm and my mind will release words that I want others to read!

Ironic a song I associate with endings (ever been to an Irish wake?) with your beginning.
I'm looking forward to reding this blog.

reading it too

I HAVE been to a few Irish wakes. Probably as a child that was where I first heard the song. Then of course church. Been listening for it and singing it ever since.

I hope I can offer some good reding for you! ;-) And reading too!

Fabulous start. And fabulous playlist at the bar last night. (For those interested, I remember hearing the Stones, David Bowie, Grand Funk Railroad, The Who, Allman Brothers, Jimi Hendrix, Queen...). Sad part was, the bar was already full, so I had to sit at a table and was unable to annoy B. Kiddo to the fullest extent possible.

What a great song to start with.

mm - Thanks - I could never explain what that song really means to me!

IB - there is always room for you guys at the bar! Go ahead TRY to annoy me! ;-)

Perfect song when performed by anyone.

It's the truth.

PS I.B. - Good ear on the tunes. That is one of the newer mixes I made. Jon Katz came in last night and told me he is mentioning me in his next book as his music consultant! (He also brought me in a couple cd's and a book. The cd's were Nora Jones and Carly Simon. Time to make a new "dinner" mix)

Teaser...you post one song (a great tune I'll give you that) and then you leave me hanging.

OK, I might even buy Katz's new book if you're mentioned in it. I only ever read one of them, which I liked quite a bit, but I haven't read his dog books.

Okay, we've all been humming "Amazing Grace" for two weeks now. Some of us have even been inspired to see the movie. Time for a new song. You do know another song, yes? ;-)

Sorry... It has been a crazy couple weeks with no days off and a friend who is ill. Not to mention tax season! I have one more set of taxes to do and will actually start getting a couple nights off a week soon... It's almost over!

It's been almost a month and Amazing Grace is still #1 on the charts!
